Passion Project: Learning 3D Modeling

During the COVID-19 pandemic, when in-person schooling was not possible and we had to switch to online classes, we were introduced to a new subject called “Passion Project.” This project allowed us to choose an idea that had been lingering in our minds and work on it independently. For me, learning 3D modeling had always been an intriguing idea, but due to busy schedules and lack of time, I never had the chance to pursue it. This was the perfect opportunity to delve into the world of 3D modeling and bring my imagination to life.

Project Overview

Objective: Learn 3D modeling using Blender. Learning Journey: As a beginner in 3D modeling, I relied on YouTube tutorials to gain a solid understanding of Blender’s functionalities and techniques. The tutorials provided step-by-step guidance, allowing me to create various objects such as a donut, a chair, and a transparent teacup filled with tea. Challenges and Growth: Although I had no prior experience in 3D modeling, this project taught me valuable lessons in patience and perseverance. I encountered obstacles along the way but developed problem-solving skills specific to 3D modeling. By diagnosing and overcoming these challenges, I gained a deeper understanding of the craft and honed my abilities.

Reflection

This passion project became a personal journey of self-discovery and skill development. Through learning 3D modeling, I not only expanded my technical expertise but also cultivated patience and determination. The satisfaction of bringing virtual objects to life and overcoming hurdles fueled my passion for design and the creative process.
